What is REIKI

In our day-to-day life, we come across a lots of words and terms which we hear, read or listen and then either we forget them or simply don’t care to look into the meaning. The same has been seen with the term REIKI. Many people have heard about it, but most of them are still ignorant as to what Reiki really is.

The word Reiki is a Japanese word which is formed with the combination of two separate words- Rei and Ki. Rei stands for- Universal Life Energy or Spiritual/ Higher Consciousness- and Ki stands for- Life Force. In eastern countries, such as India, Ki is often referred to as Prana. So together we may understand the term Reiki as Spiritually Guided Life Force Energy.

Reiki is a system of hands-on healing and meditation which uses Universal Life Force to bring the highest and greatest good of all concerned. The origin of Reiki goes back centuries and thousands of years back in India, but like various other forms of knowledge, Reiki too got forgotten. It was only in late 19th century when a Japanese monk Dr. Mikao Usui rediscovered it and bring it to the knowledge of modern world as a form of energy-based healing.

In Reiki, the practitioner channels energy into the patient or someone who needed healing, either by means of touch or through a distance. This activates the natural healing ability of the recipient’s body, thus healing him on all levels i.e physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. The most wonderful aspect of Reiki is that it can be performed effectively in both ways- in person healing, where the healer and the recipient are in the same room- and also through Distance healing session, where recipient may be in the other part of the world.

Even though a large number of people have started following Reiki by learning it or simply seeking the help of a Reiki practitioner for the betterment of their life, many people still feel skeptical regarding this wonderful healing modality. Since Reiki is a Spiritually guided healing modality, so it can never do any harm to anybody. The outcome of Reiki will always be the one- The Highest and Greatest Good of All Concerned.

Hope to connect with you all in this beautiful journey of Reiki.

Thank you, Namaste and a big Reiki Love 😊 ❤
